Looking for a Trauma Surgery NP/PA to join an inpatient team in Atlantic City, NJ on a locum tenens basis. This is clinical-only coverage starting ASAP through October 2026, supporting a Level II trauma center.
Schedule and setting
- 12-hour shifts (7a–7p or 7p–7a); weekend shifts required
- Inpatient service with patient volume roughly 15–20 per shift
- Admissions and rounding required; physician support available
Clinical responsibilities
- Respond to trauma alerts and perform surgical consultations
- Admit, round on, and provide OR support for trauma and acute care surgery patients
- Manage discharges and emergency department admissions; participate in house codes/rapid response team
- Common procedures include chest tube placement, central and arterial lines, PICC placement, minor laceration suturing, and ventilator/non-invasive ventilatory management (BiPAP/CPAP)
Logistics and systems
- EMR: Cerner
- Travel, lodging, and and malpractice insurance provided
Requirements
- Active New Jersey license
- Board certified/board eligible
- BLS, ACLS, and ATLS or ATCN required
- NPDB report required
- Local candidates preferred
