Locum tenens opportunity in Potsdam, NY providing inpatient and outpatient urology coverage. Initial assignment is 26 weeks beginning 06/01/2026 with potential to continue. Clinical hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with 24-hour beeper call (7:00 AM–7:00 AM) and a required response time within 20 minutes; on-call schedule may be flexible based on availability.
Patient population: adults (18+). Typical daily volume ~20 patients, including admissions, inpatient consults, post‑op rounding, phone consults, general urology procedures, and outpatient care.
Facility highlights: small urology practice setting with 4 exam rooms, Level III trauma center, Epic EMR, standard clinic and OR equipment (limited robotics), and specialty backup as needed. Support staff includes 1 full‑time provider, 2 LPNs, 2 CNA/CMA, and 1 patient representative. Coverage is needed due to a provider vacancy and upcoming departure.
Privileges & compliance: hospital privileges required. Travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage provided per facility guidelines.
Required procedures and responsibilities: perform general urology procedures and surgical cases, manage inpatient consults and post‑operative care, provide outpatient visits and phone consults, participate in scheduled call coverage, and collaborate with clinical staff to maintain quality care.
Qualifications: active New York medical license, board certified in Urology, valid DEA registration, BLS certification, relevant urology experience, Epic experience, and clean work history (no gaps >30 days). Malpractice disclosures required if applicable.
