Gastroenterology

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gastroenterologist to join our team in a 100% outpatient setting. This role involves working closely with a Nurse Practitioner and managing a steady flow of referrals while performing endoscopic procedures on designated days.

Available Practice Locations: Alexandria, LA • Shreveport, LA • Corpus Christi, TX • Alamogordo, NM • Tyler, TX • Jacksonville, TX • Beaumont, TX • Longview, TX • Sulphur Springs, TX

Schedule:

• Call Schedule: 10 days per month (on-campus)
• Procedure Days: Monday & Wednesday (Endoscopic procedures / scopes)
• Clinic Days: Tuesday & Friday (Outpatient consultations & follow-ups)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform gastrointestinal procedures, including endoscopic scopes
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with GI disorders in an outpatient setting
• Collaborate closely with a Nurse Practitioner for patient care coordination
• Manage referrals from other healthcare providers
• Ensure high-quality patient care and maintain accurate documentation

Patient Volume:

• Clinic: Approximately 15–18 patients per day
• Referrals: 40–60 incoming referrals from other providers
• Procedure Volume: To be discussed (based on scope demand and scheduling)

Qualifications:

• MD/DO with Board Certification/Eligibility in Gastroenterology
• Open to new graduates
• Preferred: 3–5 years of experience post-training
• Ability to work as a sole provider
• Commitment to long-term practice (minimum 5 years preferred)
