Locums Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Seeking experienced Emergency Medicine APP (PA or NP) for a busy, high-acuity Emergency Department in Largo Fl.

Facility Details

• ~450+ bed acute care hospital
• Approx. 30,000–35,000 annual ED visits
• ~25–30 ED beds
• 1.7–2.0 patients per hour
• ~35–40% admission rate
• High-acuity setting with broad case mix
• EMR: Meditech

Schedule

• Flexible scheduling: days, nights, weekends
• 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts
• Near full APP coverage daily

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients across all acuity levels
• Perform medical screening exams, H&Ps, and reassessments
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and EKGs
• Perform procedures (suturing, I&D, splinting, etc.)
• Collaborate closely with supervising physicians
• Determine patient disposition (admit, discharge, transfer)

Requirements

• PA-C or NP (FNP/ENP preferred)
• 1–2+ years Emergency Medicine experience required
• Active Florida license
• ACLS & PALS required
• Comfortable in fast-paced, high-volume environments
