Per Diem Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants

We are seeking experienced Per Diem Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to join a Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (ACS) program in Amarillo, TX. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a Level II Trauma Center managing a diverse and high-acuity patient population within a collaborative, team-based environment.

Practice Setting

• 495-bed acute care hospital
• Level II Trauma Center
• Dedicated Trauma & ACS service
• On-site clinic space

Schedule

• Per Diem / As-Needed Coverage
• 12-hour shifts
• Flexible scheduling based on availability and program needs

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage trauma and ACS patients across ED, inpatient, and ICU settings
• Assist with procedures and perioperative care
• Participate in consults, admissions, and daily rounding
• Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams
• Support discharge planning and care coordination
• Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active Texas license (or ability to obtain)
• Experience in trauma, surgery, ICU, or emergency medicine preferred
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment
