Job Description
We are seeking a Locums Interventional Cardiology Physician to provide inpatient call coverage in Mechanicsville, VA. This role includes STEMI call coverage aligned with unassigned and noninvasive cardiology coverage, supporting a busy cardiovascular service line in a well-equipped hospital setting.
Schedule & Call Details
- Shift Types:
- Day: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Night: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend Requirements: Yes
- Coverage Dates: May 1 – June 30, 2026
- Call Type: Inpatient call with STEMI coverage
- Call Ratio: Approximately 9 VCS to 7 RHV (TBD)
Practice Setting
- Hospital Size: 250 beds
- ICU Beds: 30
- Inpatient cardiology service with collaborative team support
- High-acuity cardiovascular care environment
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide interventional cardiology coverage, including STEMI response
- Perform procedures such as:
- Balloon angioplasty
- Coronary angioplasty
- Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
- Heart catheterization
- Coronary angiograms
- Carotid artery stenting
- Atherectomy
- Embolic protection procedures
- Manage vascular disease medically and procedurally
- Collaborate with cardiology and hospital teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Requirements & Certifications
- Board Certified in Cardiology (Interventional required)
- Active Virginia medical license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
