LPN/LVN Long-Term Care Contract in Belen, NM | 13-Week, High-Pay Local Shift (WedFri)

We’re looking for a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join a team in Belen, NM for a 13-week contract starting ASAP. This is a local, non-travel position with a Wed–Fri schedule (06:00 AM–06:30 PM). Pay is $914 per 36-hour week.

What you’ll need

• Active, valid LPN license for the state of practice
• Current BLS certification

What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under the supervision of RNs and physicians. Typical duties include administering medications and IVs, performing wound care, monitoring and documenting vital signs, and carrying out focused patient assessments to help tailor care plans. You’ll collect specimens for lab testing, care for urinary catheters, assist with patient mobility and positioning, and support pain management and comfort needs.

Day-to-day you’ll:

• Give prescribed medications and treatments accurately and follow protocols
• Assess patients—review histories, perform basic exams, and contribute to individualized plans of care
• Clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for signs of infection or complications
• Monitor, record, and report vital signs and changes in patient condition
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of treatments, medications, and observations
• Start, monitor, and manage IVs and IV medications when required
• Perform specimen collection (blood, urine, sputum) for lab analysis
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and self-care strategies
• Follow infection control practices and use PPE appropriately
• Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies safely and in compliance with regulations
• Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support as needed
• Promote preventive care and support health screenings and vaccinations
• Advocate for patients and collaborate closely with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other staff
• Occasionally supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned
• Complete other duties as directed by management
