Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) Long Term Care, Bloomfield, NM (11Week Contract)

We’re looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a Bloomfield, NM team on an 11-week contract starting ASAP. This is a local, non-travel assignment with a schedule of Monday–Wednesday, 5:00 AM–5:30 PM, and a pay rate of $1,040 for 36 hours.

What we need from you

• Active, valid LPN state license
• Current BLS certification

What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician guidance — everything from medication administration and wound care to monitoring vitals and supporting patient comfort. You’ll perform focused assessments (physical exams, medication reviews, histories) to help develop and follow individualized care plans. Other day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Administering medications and treatments accurately and per protocol
• Evaluating, cleaning, dressing, and monitoring wounds for infection or complications
• Regularly monitoring and documenting vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, respirations) and changes in condition
• Maintaining clear, thorough patient records of treatments and medication administration
• Teaching patients and families about diagnoses, meds, and self-care strategies
• Starting, administering, and monitoring IV medications and fluids, and caring for IV lines
• Inserting, caring for, and monitoring urinary catheters as needed
• Collecting specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing
• Collaborating with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care
• Assisting with positioning, mobility, pain management, and general comfort measures
• Responding to emergencies per protocol and providing basic life support when required
• Following strict infection control practices and proper use of PPE
• Safely handling, storing, and disposing of medications and medical supplies
• Promoting preventive health measures (vaccinations, screenings) and supporting health assessments
• Advocating for patients’ needs and rights within the care team
• Staying current with nursing practices and participating in ongoing education
• When needed, supervising CNAs or other unlicensed assistive personnel
• Performing other duties assigned by management
