Rate: Local: $907 / 36 hours

Minimum Requirements

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • Current BLS certification

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician guidance: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, basic assessments.
  • Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately per orders and protocols; monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Manage wounds/incisions: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain accurate patient records.
  • Insert, monitor, and manage IV lines and IV medications/fluids as permitted by state scope of practice.
  • Care for urinary catheters: insertion, maintenance, monitoring for complications.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Promote patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility assistance, pain management.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control standards and proper use of PPE.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies according to regulations.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs/UAPs, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Advocate for patient rights and ensure appropriate care delivery.
  • Maintain professional competence through ongoing education and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
