Rate: Local: $1,040 / 36 hours

Requirements:

• Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Overview:
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of RNs and physicians in a fast-paced clinical setting. Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing interventions, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform patient assessments, including physical exams, medical history, and medication review, to inform individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to protocols; ensure accurate dosing and documentation.
• Monitor, document, and interpret vital signs and patient status changes; report concerns to the RN or physician.
• Provide wound care: assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for signs of infection or complications.
• Initiate and manage IV therapy and monitor IV sites and infusions as indicated.
• Provide catheter care, including insertion support, routine maintenance, and surveillance for complications.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing and ensure proper handling and labeling.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Support patient comfort, mobility, and pain management; assist with positioning and activities of daily living as needed.
• Respond to medical emergencies using established protocols and deliver basic life support when required.
• Follow infection control standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies in compliance with regulations.
• Advocate for patient rights and collaborate with the healthcare team—including RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff—to coordinate care.
• May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
• Maintain professional competence through continuing education and adherence to nursing best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
