LPN/LVN - Long Term Care (11Week Contract) — Silver City, NM, Nights (Sun/Fri/Sat)

We’re looking for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join a Silver City, NM team on an 11-week contract (non-travel). This is a local role starting ASAP with a night shift schedule: Sunday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:00 PM–6:30 AM. Pay is $1,145 per 36 hours.

What you’ll need

• Current, active LPN license for the state of New Mexico
• BLS certification

What you’ll do
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician direction—everything from medication administration and wound care to monitoring vital signs. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Performing focused patient assessments (history, basic physical checks, medication review) to help develop individualized care plans
• Administering medications and treatments accurately and following facility protocols
• Caring for wounds and incisions: cleaning, dressing, assessing for infection or complications
• Monitoring and documenting vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, respirations) and changes in patient condition
• Maintaining clear, accurate patient records of treatments and medications
• Educating patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and self-care
• Managing IV therapies and monitoring IV sites and infusions
• Caring for urinary catheters, including insertion, maintenance, and surveillance for issues
• Collecting specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing
• Assisting with mobility, positioning, comfort, and pain management
• Responding to emergencies and providing basic life support as needed
• Following strict infection control practices and proper PPE use
• Safely handling, storing, and disposing of medications and supplies
• Promoting preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and supporting patient advocacy
• Collaborating with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other team members to coordinate care
• Occasionally supervising CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when required
• Staying up to date with nursing best practices through ongoing education
• Other duties as assigned by management
