Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist — Inpatient Call Coverage (Yakima, WA)

We’re looking for a Gastroenterologist to provide inpatient locum tenens coverage in Yakima, WA. This is a call-only position supporting hospital rounding and MAC cases on an ASAP–ongoing basis.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide in-house, 24-hour call coverage (call ratio and response/callback percentages vary)
• Admit patients and perform hospital rounding
• Manage MAC cases and respond to phone consults as needed
• Perform a broad range of procedures, including upper and lower endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound, liver and small bowel biopsy, esophageal dilation and manometry (including interpretation), and insertion/management of Sengstaken-Blakemore tubes

Setting and support

• Service setting: Inpatient at a Level III trauma and PEDS facility
• EMR: EPIC
• Hospital privileges required, with temporary privileges available
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered

Requirements

• Active Washington medical license or participation in IMLC
• Board certified
• Current BLS and ACLS

• Typical patient volume: ~5
• Admissions and rounding included
• Call schedule: 24-hour in-house shifts; specifics (ratio, response time, callback %) will vary by assignment
