Schedule
- Clinical shift: 8:30 AM–3:00 PM (lunch 12:00–1:00 PM)
- Call: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM; call ratio 1:4
- Call frequency: average <1 callback per 24-hr shift (calls routed via answering service)
- Night call waived after clinic days if clinic is taken
Required Coverage Dates
- June: 22, 26–28
- July: 4, 5, 30
(Must be able to cover listed dates; assignment continues thereafter)
Clinical Scope and Volume
- Inpatient L&D beds: 9; Postpartum beds: 20
- Nursery admissions: 2–3 per day
- Physicians in practice: 4
- Support staff: OB hospitalist, surgical assistants, 3–4 nurses per shift
- High-risk patients primarily managed by MFM
- Laborist manages unreferred in-hospital deliveries and rounding
Required Procedures
- Cesarean section
- Vaginal deliveries
- Suction D&C
- Management of ectopic pregnancy and ovarian torsion
- Evaluation and management of abnormal uterine bleeding
Facility and Systems
- Trauma level III
- EMR: Epic
Credentialing and Compliance Requirements
- Active Virginia medical license
- Board certified (ABOG)
- BLS certification
- VA DEA and CSR
- Clean professional record; NPDB report required
- Must be able to provide both clinic coverage and call coverage for listed dates

- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided by facility
