LPN/LVN - Night Shift Long Term Care (Parkersburg, WV)

Rate: Local: $842 / 36 hours

Required:

• Valid, active LPN license for the state of practice
• BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician guidance: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and basic treatments.
• Perform focused patient assessments (vitals, physical exam, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer prescribed medications and therapies, ensuring correct dosing and adherence to protocols.
• Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for infection or complications.
• Monitor, record, and report vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain accurate patient documentation.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and self-care instructions.
• Insert, maintain, and monitor IVs; administer and observe IV fluids/medications as permitted by scope.
• Manage urinary catheters (insertion, maintenance, monitoring) per facility policy.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing following proper technique.
• Assist with patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility support, and pain management.
• Respond to emergencies and provide BLS as required.
• Follow infection control practices and proper use/disposal of PPE, medications, and supplies.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate patient care.
• Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and advocate for patient rights and needs.
• Supervise CNAs/UAPs when assigned.
• Maintain professional competency through required education and training.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.
