Rate: Local: $1,001/36 hours

Overview:
Join a clinical team delivering hands-on nursing care in Waterville. As an LPN, you will provide direct patient care under RN or physician guidance, support interdisciplinary coordination, and promote patient safety and education.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and monitoring of vital signs.
  • Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting appropriately.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds for signs of infection or complications.
  • Insert, monitor, and maintain IV lines; administer and observe IV medications/fluids per facility policy.
  • Manage urinary catheters—insert when authorized, perform routine care, and monitor for issues.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing and ensure proper labeling and handling.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate patient records, charting changes in condition, treatments, and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Support patient comfort and safety (positioning, mobility assistance, pain management).
  • Respond to emergencies, provide basic life support, and follow established emergency protocols.
  • Follow strict infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
  • Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies per regulations.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure coordinated care.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs within the care team.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain current clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned to ensure quality care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
