Locum Tenens General Surgeon — Bentonville, AR (Inpatient/Outpatient, May 1, 2026 Ongoing)

Join a busy surgical team in Bentonville, Arkansas, providing both inpatient and outpatient coverage on a locum tenens basis. You’ll fill a supplemental clinical + call role starting May 1, 2026, with an ongoing coverage period.

Schedule and call

• 24-hour shifts (6:00 a.m.–6:00 a.m.) with clinic rotations
• Beeper call with a 30-minute response expectation

Clinical workload

• Endoscopy volume: 30–60 procedures per month (upper and lower GI; sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy)
• Surgical volume: roughly 15–25 cases per month
• Admissions and rounding are included

Typical procedures you’ll perform

• Appendectomy
• Cholecystectomy
• Hernia repair (including umbilical defects)
• Nissen fundoplication
• Chest tube and central line insertion
• General GI endoscopy (upper and lower)

Facility and systems

• Level IV trauma center
• Stroke certified hospital
• EMR: Cerner
• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided

Requirements

• Active Arkansas medical license or participation in IMLC
• Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery
• BLS and ACLS

This role is ideal if you’re comfortable with a mix of operative cases, endoscopy, inpatient management, and urgent call coverage in a community hospital setting.
