LPN/LVN Night Shift — 9-Week Contract, Long-Term Care — Rutland, VT

We’re looking for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join a Rutland, VT team for a 9-week contract starting ASAP. This is a local, non-travel assignment working night shift (10:00 PM–6:30 AM). Pay is $1,168 per 40-hour week.

What you’ll bring

• Valid, active LPN license for the state
• Current BLS certification
• A patient-focused mindset and the ability to work well with RNs, physicians, and the broader care team

What you’ll do
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care while collaborating with RNs and physicians. Typical duties include medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, vital sign monitoring, and routine patient assessments. You’ll document changes in condition and treatments accurately, collect specimens for lab testing, and support patients with urinary catheters when needed.

You’ll also:

• Perform physical assessments, review medical histories and meds, and help develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to protocol
• Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds for signs of complications
• Monitor and chart vitals (BP, pulse, temp, respirations) consistently
• Insert, maintain, and monitor IV lines and IV medications/fluids
• Educate patients and families about conditions, meds, and self-care
• Assist with positioning, mobility, pain management, and overall comfort
• Respond to emergencies using established protocols and basic life support
• Follow infection control practices and proper use of PPE
• Handle and dispose of meds and supplies safely and per regulations
• Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and support health assessments
• Advocate for patients’ needs and participate in ongoing education to stay current
• Occasionally supervise CNAs or UAPs as assigned
• Perform other duties as directed by management
