LPN/LVN Contract Long-Term Care Night Shift (5-Week) — Laconia, NH

We’re seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a team in Laconia, NH on a short-term contract. This role starts ASAP for approximately 5 weeks, with evening-to-overnight shifts (06:45 PM–07:15 AM). Compensation is $1,098 for a 36-hour period.

What we need from you

• Active, valid LPN license for the state.
• Current BLS certification.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians, helping ensure patients get safe, compassionate treatment around the clock. Core duties include:

• Conducting focused patient assessments (vitals, brief physical checks, medical history and med reviews) and contributing to individualized care plans.
• Administering medications and treatments accurately and following established protocols.
• Managing wounds and dressings—cleaning, dressing, monitoring for signs of infection or complications.
• Monitoring and documenting vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and any changes in condition.
• Starting, monitoring, and maintaining IVs and IV medications as required.
• Caring for patients with urinary catheters, including insertion/maintenance and surveillance for issues.
• Collecting specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
• Keeping clear, accurate patient records—documenting treatments, medication administration, and clinical changes.
• Educating patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Responding promptly in emergencies and providing basic life support per protocol.
• Following strict infection control practices and proper use of PPE.
• Safely handling, storing, and disposing of medications and supplies.
• Collaborating with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other staff to coordinate care.
• Occasionally supervising CNAs or other assistive personnel to maintain care quality.
• Advocating for patients’ needs and staying current with nursing standards through ongoing training.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
