Join a short-term, non-travel contract as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Belen, NM. This 7-week assignment begins ASAP with shifts on Tuesday–Thursday, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM. Compensation: $1,019 per 36-hour week.

Requirements:

  • Active, valid LPN license for the state of New Mexico
  • Current BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care under RN or physician supervision, including medication administration, vital sign monitoring, wound care, and basic treatments.
  • Perform focused assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer and monitor IV fluids/medications; ensure IV line integrity and proper documentation.
  • Manage wound care and urinary catheter care; monitor for infection or complications.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing and document findings accurately.
  • Maintain clear, timely patient records documenting condition changes, interventions, and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
  • Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide BLS as needed; adhere to infection control and PPE protocols.
  • Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies, following regulations.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care.
  • May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with nursing practices and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
