Locum Tenens NP/PA Emergency Medicine (Weslaco/Brownsville, TX)

Locum tenens position providing clinical emergency care across Valley Baptist facilities in Weslaco and Brownsville, TX. Start date: July 15, 2026; ongoing assignment with flexible scheduling that includes both day and night shifts (typical shifts: 9:00 AM–7:00 PM, 4:00 PM–2:00 AM, 12:00 PM–12:00 AM). Practice setting: acute care hospital and micro-hospital emergency departments with full ED capabilities, onsite imaging/labs, multidisciplinary support, and specialty backup. Patient population: adults and pediatrics; combined annual ED volume ~55,600 visits (Brownsville ~32,000; Weslaco ~23,600). Clinical responsibilities include emergency evaluation, stabilization and management of acute conditions, interpretation of diagnostic studies, admissions/rounding, phone consults, and coordination with inpatient and specialty teams across a broad case mix (general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, OBGYN, gastroenterology, pulmonology, psychiatry, respiratory, GI). Documentation in Cerner EMR and adherence to clinical protocols and cross-facility credentialing are required. Department beds: 243. Requirements: active Texas license, NP or PA board certification, active DEA, current ATLS, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications, and a minimum of one year of emergency medicine NP/PA experience.
