Locum Tenens Primary Care Physician (Family Medicine/Internal Medicine) — Waupun, WI — 26 Weeks

We’re looking for a compassionate, experienced physician to join a correctional healthcare team in Waupun, WI. This locum tenens role starts ASAP and runs for 26 weeks, working roughly 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with a competitive rate of $155/hr.

What you’ll bring

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Active, unrestricted medical license
• Prior correctional healthcare experience is strongly preferred
• Experience caring for older adults with multiple comorbidities
• Background in long-term care or chronic care management is a plus
• Strong leadership, clear communication, and solid clinical judgment

What you’ll do

• Provide medical leadership and clinical oversight for all healthcare services in the facility
• Develop, implement, and monitor clinical policies, procedures, and standards of care
• Ensure the clinic meets state, federal, and correctional healthcare regulations
• Supervise, mentor, and support physicians and advanced practice providers
• Manage and review complex medical cases, especially chronic disease and long-term care needs
• Work closely with nursing, mental health, administrative, and security teams to coordinate care
• Participate in quality assurance, peer review, and performance improvement activities
• Handle clinical risk management, utilization review, and medical grievances as needed
