Locum Pediatric Hospitalist — Lake Havasu City, AZ (Inpatient/Outpatient, Covered Travel/Lodging)

Join a Lake Havasu City, AZ practice to provide supplemental pediatric inpatient and outpatient coverage (locum tenens). Coverage begins May 9 and is ongoing. Clinical duties include weekday shifts Mon–Thu/Fri, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., plus night and weekend beeper call approximately 10 days per month (30-minute response). Minimal phone consults expected. Typical patient volume: ~2 patients with ~2 admissions per shift. Rounding is required; a full-time local pediatrician remains in-office.

Facility and support

• Inpatient hospital with 8 pediatric beds; Nursery Level I; onsite lab and x‑ray
• EMR: Athena (clinic), Medhost (hospital)
• Robust 24‑hour support: anesthesia, cardiothoracic surgery, cath lab, general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, radiology, vascular surgery, OR response
• Clinic support staff: front office, dedicated medical assistant, dedicated office manager
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided
• Hospital privileges required

Clinical requirements and procedures

• Must be board certified and experienced in both inpatient and outpatient pediatrics
• Active AZ medical license or participation in IMLC required
• PALS certification required
• Procedural competence expected: management of PICU patients, attendance at C‑sections/high‑risk deliveries, non‑invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP), acute newborn ventilation management, neonatal intubation, and circumcisions (preferred)
