Join a busy OB/GYN team in Las Cruces, NM, providing both inpatient and outpatient care on a locum tenens basis. Coverage begins ASAP and is ongoing, combining clinical duties with call responsibilities. Schedule details are TBD; call consists of 24-hour shifts (7a–7a) on a 1:1 rotation with beeper coverage and a 30-minute response time.
Clinical expectations
- Laborist and outpatient care: laborist patient volume 0–3; outpatient volume ~25/day
- Admissions: 0–3
- Annual deliveries: ~1,500
- Rounding is required
- Procedures: management of low- and high-risk pregnancies, fetal heart rate interpretation, OB ultrasounds, amniocentesis, routine and complicated deliveries, repair of 3rd–4th degree lacerations
Facility and systems
- Department beds: 12
- Trauma designation: Level III
- EMR systems: Athena and Medhost
- Temporary privileges available
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided
Call and workload metrics
- Call type: beeper
- Phone consults: 0–3 per shift
- Call ratio: 1:1
Qualifications
- Active New Mexico medical license
- Board certified (BC) in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- BLS and ACLS required
