Overview

Schedule & call
- Clinical shifts: 10-hour day shifts (07:00–17:00).
- Call: Night call included. Weekend call blocks include Friday 17:00 – Monday 07:00.
- Call type: Inpatient plus phone. Expected call frequency approximately one week per month plus assigned weekends.
Patient population & clinical scope
- Adults (18+). Admissions, rounds, phone consults and inpatient consults included.
- Case mix: General gastroenterology procedures and inpatient consults.
- Exclusions: No ERCP or EUS required.

- Hospital: 593 beds, Level I trauma center.
- EMR: Epic.
- Anesthesiology: Onsite.
- Procedural equipment: Standard GI equipment available.
- Reason for coverage: Supplemental.
Privileges, credentialing & compliance
- Hospital privileges required. Temporary privileges available with a clean file.
- Credentialing timeline: ~90 days.

Required procedures & duties
- Perform general endoscopy and colonoscopy.
- Provide GI consults and inpatient care; manage patients during day shifts and when on call.
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic.
- Collaborate with anesthesiology and hospital staff.
Qualifications
- PA medical license required or willingness to obtain.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
- DEA required.
- Minimum 1 year post-training clinical experience.
- Comfortable with inpatient call and procedural workload.
