Locum Tenens Orthopedic Surgeon (Spine Fellowship) — Outpatient, Raleigh NC

Locum tenens opportunity in Raleigh, NC providing outpatient, clinical-only coverage (ASAP – ongoing). Schedule is flexible: 3–4 clinic days per month, typically 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Primarily adult patient population with minimal pediatric cases and daily census of approximately 25–30 patients.

Clinical scope includes non-surgical spine care and general orthopedic evaluations: spine conditions, musculoskeletal complaints, whiplash, and related procedures such as epidural, facet, cortisone, and joint injections. Fracture care experience preferred. No surgical responsibilities and no Schedule II narcotic prescribing.

Facility and support:

• EMR and PACS imaging systems available
• C-arm access (no in-office fluoroscopy)
• Onsite support from PAs, NPs, physiatrist, RN, pain anesthesiologist
• Specialty backup: sports medicine and foot & ankle physicians

Credentials and compliance:

• Active NC medical license required (SC license preferred)
• Board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon with Spine Fellowship required
• DEA required
• Temporary privileges available; credentialing can be completed quickly (≈1 week)
• Hospital privileges not required

Compensation and logistics:

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and manage spine and musculoskeletal patients
• Perform indicated non-surgical procedures
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate referrals for surgical evaluation when appropriate
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
