Clinical Volume & Workload
- Patient volume: 8–12 patients
- Surgical volume: ~10–12 transplants/month
- Admissions: 0–3 daytime; 0–1 nighttime
Primary Duties
- Perform deceased-donor renal transplants
- Perform deceased-donor simultaneous kidney/pancreas transplants
- Review and accept organ offers
- Provide on-call transplant surgical coverage per site protocols
Requirements
- Active North Carolina medical license
- Board Certified (Transplant and General Surgery)
- Fellowship-trained in transplant surgery
- Minimum 5 years post-training experience
- BLS and ACLS (AHA) current
