Summary
Provide on-site ABA services and behavior support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (often with co-occurring mental illness) at state-operated intermediate care facilities. Coordinate with facility staff and the interdisciplinary treatment team to assess behavior, develop and implement behavior support plans, monitor progress, and train staff and caregivers.
Requirements
- Active BCBA certification in good standing
- Compliance with Missouri licensure requirements for behavior analysts
- Demonstrated knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles, assessment methods, and intervention techniques
- Experience with intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental illness and their behavioral/cognitive impacts
- Ability to collect and interpret behavioral data and train staff, caregivers, and family members
- Familiarity with relevant state and federal behavioral health standards
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct observations and initial behavioral assessments; identify additional data collection needs
- Design, implement, and modify behavior support plans to increase adaptive behaviors, reduce challenging behaviors, and support transitions to less restrictive settings
- Monitor client progress against goals and adjust plans based on data
- Serve as an active member of the interdisciplinary treatment team; participate in treatment planning and review meetings
- Train and coach facility staff, caregivers, and family members on behavior intervention strategies and data collection
Facilities deliver services on-site during standard business hours in coordination with facility staff and treatment programs.
