We’re looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a team in Rio Rancho, NM for a 9-week, contract (non-travel) assignment starting ASAP. This is an evening/night schedule (Mon, Tue, Thu, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM) with a local pay rate of $1,019 per 36 hours.

What we need from you

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • Current BLS certification

What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under RN/physician guidance, with responsibilities that include medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and routine monitoring of vital signs. You’ll perform focused patient assessments (history, basic physical checks, medication reviews) to help develop and carry out individualized care plans. Accurate documentation of treatments, changes in condition, and medication administration is essential.

Daily tasks include:

  • Administering prescribed medications and treatments safely and following protocols
  • Assessing, cleaning, dressing, and monitoring wounds and surgical sites for infection or complications
  • Monitoring and documenting vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, respirations)
  • Starting, maintaining, and monitoring IV lines and IV medications/fluids
  • Managing urinary catheters and watching for related complications
  • Collecting specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing
  • Assisting with positioning, mobility, pain management, and other comfort/safety needs
  • Educating patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care
  • Responding to emergencies and providing basic life support as needed
  • Following infection control practices and proper PPE use
  • Safely handling, storing, and disposing of medications and supplies
  • Promoting preventive care (immunizations, screenings) and advocating for patients’ needs
  • Collaborating closely with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and support staff
  • Occasionally supervising CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel as assigned
  • Participating in ongoing education to stay current with best practices
  • Other duties as assigned by management
