We’re seeking a caring, reliable Licensed Practical Nurse to join a short-term contract in Bloomfield, NM. This is a 5-week, local assignment starting ASAP with evening/night shifts (Thu–Sat, 5:00 PM–5:30 AM). Pay is $1,145 for 36 hours.

What we need from you

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse state license
  • Current BLS certification

What you’ll do

  • Provide direct patient care under RN or physician guidance (medication administration, wound care, vital signs).
  • Perform patient assessments—collect histories, do basic physicals, review medications—and help create individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and according to protocol.
  • Manage wounds and incisions: clean, dress, monitor for infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and any changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records for treatments, medications, and observations.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care to support recovery and wellness.
  • Start, monitor, and maintain IVs and IV medications safely.
  • Care for and monitor urinary catheters, including insertion and routine maintenance.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Support patient comfort and safety—assist with positioning, mobility, and pain management.
  • Respond promptly in emergencies and provide basic life support when necessary.
  • Follow strict infection control practices and use PPE appropriately.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies according to regulations.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and participate in health assessments.
  • Advocate for patients’ rights and needs within the healthcare team.
  • Keep current with nursing best practices and complete ongoing training.
  • May supervise CNAs or other unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
