Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician

A hospital-based program in Paducah is seeking a Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician to provide 24-hour coverage. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a well-supported surgical environment with a focused cardiac and thoracic case mix.

Position Details

• Shift Type: 24-hour coverage (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• Practice Setting: Hospital-based
• Average Cases Per Day: 1–2
• Annual ER Volume: 30,000
• Operating Rooms:
• 1 Dedicated Heart OR
• 1 Hybrid OR
• EMR: EPIC

Responsibilities & Duties

• Perform Adult Cardiac Surgery (required)
• Provide General Thoracic Surgery services (preferred)
• Manage a variety of cardiothoracic procedures, including:
• CABG and Off-Pump CABG
• Arterial revascularization (IMA, radial artery, gastroepiploic artery)
• Redo coronary revascularization (with/without valve surgery)
• Heart valve repair and replacement (including mitral valve repair)
• Thoracic aortic aneurysm repair (open)
• Tube thoracostomy and pericardial window
• Tracheostomy
• Flexible and rigid bronchoscopy
• Thoracotomy lung biopsy, resections, and pneumonectomy
• Thoracotomy decortication
• Mediastinal surgery, mediastinotomy, and biopsy
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Provide perioperative patient management and documentation in EMR

Requirements

• Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery (Required)
• BLS Certification (Required)
• Kentucky Medical License (Preferred; willing to consider candidates needing licensure)
