Location: Tennessee & Kentucky — Nashville, Murfreesboro, Memphis, Mountain Home, TN; Lexington & Louisville, KY
Service setting: Inpatient and outpatient (teleradiology)
Assignment type: Locum Tenens — supplemental coverage (ASAP to ongoing)
Coverage type: Call only; 24-hour on-call, 24/7
Facilities: VISN 9 Medical Centers and associated radiology service locations
Support: Teleradiology platform with PACS, voice recognition/dictation, and support staff
Malpractice: Provided
Primary duties:
- Interpret and dictate diagnostic imaging studies via DICOM/PACS
- STAT reads completed within 45 minutes
- Stroke-protocol CT reads within 30 minutes
- Routine reads completed within 24 hours
- Directly communicate critical findings to the ordering physician
- Participate in peer review and QA activities
- Manage exams through web-based portal; use HL7 interface for reporting
Technology/environment:
- Full teleradiology platform with secure connectivity to VA systems (PACS, VistA)
- PACS dictation system and voice recognition
- Web portal for exam management
- HL7 reporting interface
Requirements:
- Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state
- Board certified or eligible in Diagnostic Radiology and/or Nuclear Medicine
- DEA registration
- Completion of HIPAA, VA mandatory training, and privacy/security/patient privacy courses
