Location: Silver City, NM | Start: ASAP | Duration: 11 weeks | Shift: 6:00 PM–6:30 AM | Type: Contract (Non‑Travel) | Pay: Local $1,145/36 hrs

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide compassionate, high‑quality bedside care in Silver City. This is an evening/night contract position for an 11‑week assignment starting ASAP.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Active, unencumbered LPN license for the state of New Mexico
  • Current BLS certification

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care under RN/physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, IV and catheter management, and monitoring of vital signs.
  • Conduct focused assessments (physical exams, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer and monitor medications and IV therapies, ensuring accurate dosing and adherence to protocols.
  • Evaluate, clean, dress, and document wound care; observe for signs of infection or complications.
  • Record and maintain accurate patient documentation, charting changes in condition, treatments, and responses.
  • Collect and prepare specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
  • Assist with patient mobility, positioning, pain management, and comfort needs.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self‑care, and preventive health measures.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per established protocols.
  • Follow infection control practices and proper use/disposal of PPE, medications, and supplies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care.
  • May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel as assigned.
  • Maintain professional development and comply with facility policies and regulatory standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
