Contract / Non-Travel | Waterville, ME | Start: ASAP | Duration: 12 weeks | Schedule: Evenings/Nights 5:45 PM–6:15 AM | Rate: Local $1,156/40 hours

We are seeking a dependable, patient-focused Licensed Practical Nurse to provide hands-on nursing care in a fast-paced clinical setting. The ideal candidate will work under RN or physician direction to assess patients, implement care plans, administer medications and treatments, monitor progress, and promote patient comfort and safety.

Requirements

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse state license
  • BLS certification

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and monitoring of vital signs
  • Conduct patient assessments (physical exams, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care planning
  • Accurately document patient status, interventions, medication administration, and changes in condition
  • Collect and prepare specimens for lab testing (blood, urine, sputum)
  • Monitor and manage wounds, incisions, and signs of infection or complication
  • Assist with patient mobility, positioning, pain management, and comfort measures
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and self-care practices
  • Follow infection control protocols and safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies
  • Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per protocol
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care
  • Supervise and support CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and advocate for patient rights
  • Maintain professional development through continuing education and adhere to regulatory standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
