Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (C-OTA) — 13-Week Contract in San Leandro, CA, Competitive Pay

We’re looking for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join a busy team in San Leandro, CA on a 13-week contract. This role starts ASAP and follows an early-shift schedule: 08:00 AM – 4:30 PM, seven days a week (Sun–Sat). Pay is competitive: Travel rate $1,505/35 hrs; Local rate $1,484/35 hrs.

What you’ll need

• A valid, active Occupational Therapy Assistant license for California.

What you’ll be doing

• Support the Occupational Therapist in assessing patients to identify physical and functional limitations.
• Help create and carry out individualized treatment plans aimed at improving mobility, motor skills, and daily living independence.
• Lead therapeutic activities and interventions under the OT’s direction.
• Teach patients how to use assistive devices and adaptive equipment safely and effectively.
• Keep accurate, timely documentation of treatments, patient progress, and any changes in condition.
• Coach patients and their families on at-home exercises and strategies that support recovery.
• Communicate regularly with the OT and the broader healthcare team to ensure coordinated care.
• Follow safety and infection-control procedures to maintain a safe therapy environment.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to help patients stay motivated.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
