Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program required.
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of OR experience; vascular OR experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of vascular instrumentation, sterile technique, and OR procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms for vascular surgeries, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and ready.
- Maintain strict sterile field practices throughout the procedure.
- Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently.
- Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping in alignment with surgical protocols.
- Set up and operate specialized vascular OR equipment (e.g., electrocautery, graft materials, endovascular instruments).
- Count instruments and sponges according to policy to ensure patient safety.
- Assist in specimen handling, labeling, and documentation.
- Collaborate with RNs, surgeons, and anesthesia staff to maintain optimal workflow.
- Follow infection control and safety standards at all times.
- Participate in room turnover, cleaning, and restocking supplies after procedures.
