Locum Tenens Internal Medicine/Family Physician — $155/hr in Waupun, WI (Correctional & Long-Term Care Lead)

We’re seeking a skilled physician to join a correctional healthcare team in Waupun, WI for a 26‑week locum tenens assignment starting ASAP. You’ll work a regular daytime schedule (07:00 AM–03:30 PM) and earn $155/hour.

Who we’re looking for

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Active, unrestricted medical license
• Prior correctional healthcare experience is strongly preferred
• Experience caring for older adults with multiple comorbidities, and background in long‑term or chronic care management, is highly desirable
• Strong leadership, communication, and clinical judgment skills

What you’ll do

• Provide medical leadership and clinical oversight for all healthcare services within the facility
• Develop, implement, and monitor clinical policies, procedures, and standards of care
• Ensure the facility meets state, federal, and correctional healthcare regulations
• Supervise, mentor, and support physicians and advanced practice providers
• Manage and review complex medical cases, especially chronic disease and long‑term care needs
• Work closely with nursing, mental health, administrative, and security staff to coordinate care
• Take part in quality assurance, peer review, and performance improvement activities
• Address clinical risk management, utilization review, and medical grievances as they arise
