📌 Job Overview

Position: Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)

Location: Fort Bragg, CA

 

Job Type: Travel Contract

Duration: 26 Weeks

Start Date: ASAP

Shift: Days – 4×10-hour shifts (40 hours/week)

 

🩺 Role Summary

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs complex diagnostic testing across multiple lab departments, ensuring accurate and timely results to support patient diagnosis and treatment in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

 

🔑 Key Responsibilities

• Perform testing in:
• Chemistry, hematology, coagulation
• Microbiology, serology, immunology
• Urinalysis and blood bank
• Ensure proper specimen collection, labeling, and handling
• Analyze and validate results, reporting critical values promptly
• Conduct quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) procedures
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and safety regulations
• Prioritize STAT and urgent lab orders efficiently
• Document results accurately and communicate with healthcare teams
• Manage inventory of reagents and lab supplies
• Assist in training and supervising lab assistants

 

⚠️ Requirements

• ✅ Bachelor’s Degree in:
• Clinical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology / Biological or Chemical Sciences
• ✅ Active California CLS License (REQUIRED)
• ✅ Clinical lab experience (preferred)
• ✅ ASCP or NCA certification (preferred)
