Trauma & Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Trauma and Acute Care team in Newburgh. As a full-time member of our surgical services team, the successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to trauma and acute care patients in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Compensation: $130,000

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to trauma and acute care surgery patients
• Perform patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations
• Assist in trauma resuscitations and surgical procedures
• Manage pre-operative and post-operative care
• Collaborate with trauma surgeons and multidisciplinary teams
• Respond to inpatient consults and participate in rounding
• Perform procedures within scope of practice (e.g., suturing, line placement, wound care)
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR
• Participate in call coverage and trauma activations as required

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Board Certified (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA)
• Active New York license or ability to obtain
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in trauma, acute care surgery, emergency medicine, or critical care preferred
