Locum Tenens Urologist — Robotic & Open Surgery, Inpatient/Outpatient, Long-Term Potential (Palmyra, PA)

We’re seeking a Urology physician to cover inpatient and outpatient services in the Lebanon/Palmyra, Pennsylvania area with potential to transition into a long-term contract. This is a locum tenens clinical role that includes phone call coverage and a mix of direct patient care and a small amount of administrative time.

What the schedule looks like

• Clinical: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
• Call: weekday phone call from 4:30 p.m.–8:00 a.m.; 24-hour phone on-call coverage for weekends and holidays
• Response expectations: available by phone within 15 minutes and able to be on-site within 60 minutes
• Patient population: adult patients
• Workload split: roughly 95% direct patient care, 5% administrative duties
• EMR: CPRS

Clinical responsibilities and volume

• Phone consults, admissions, and rounding are included
• Procedures commonly performed: partial and radical nephrectomy (robotic and open), radical prostatectomy (robotic), simple prostatectomy (robotic), varicocele repair (robotic), partial cystectomy (robotic), prostate fusion biopsy, vasovasostomy, all aspects of endourology, complex urodynamics, management of sexual dysfunction and recurrent UTIs
• Call type: phone-based; exact call ratio and callback percentage to be determined

Facility and support

• Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges may be available
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered

Minimum requirements

• Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
• Board certified by the American Board of Urology (ABU) or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery with certification in Urology
• Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications
• DEA certificate and NPI number

DaVinci robotic requirements (if applicable)

• Current privileges to perform both open and robotic abdominal surgery
• Credentialed in laparoscopic surgery for robotic cases and able to perform open procedures when needed
• Completion of an accredited residency or fellowship including DaVinci training, or completion of hands-on and computer-based DaVinci training totaling at least 8 hours with certification and a simulator passing grade (≥85%)
• Completion and certification of off-site DaVinci lab training
• Documented satisfactory completion of at least 2 proctored robotic laparoscopic cases or 2 non-laparoscopic cases
