Travel RN Interventional Radiology Procedural (ASAP, $2,984/40h)

Join a contract/travel team in Rockford, IL, providing interventional radiology procedural nursing. This position is available ASAP, structured as a 40-hour contract with a rate of $2,984 per week. Ideal candidates are adaptable, skilled in procedural care, and comfortable working in fast-paced settings and responding to emergencies or call as needed.

Key requirements:

• Active RN license in Illinois.
• 1–2+ years acute care nursing experience (ICU, ED, PACU, or procedural areas preferred).
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS may be required depending on patient population.
• Competency in moderate (conscious) sedation, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and basic airway management.
• Strong IV skills, experience with central lines/vascular access, and adherence to sterile technique.
• Ability to respond to emergencies, work efficiently under pressure, and take call if required.

Primary responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, review histories, allergies, and relevant diagnostics.
• Administer and monitor moderate sedation; continuously assess patient response throughout procedures.
• Assist radiologists with invasive procedures (biopsies, drain placements, vascular access, device insertions).
• Monitor hemodynamics, cardiac rhythms, and airway status; manage IV infusions, medications, and emergency interventions.
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, set up procedural equipment, and assist with troubleshooting.
• Provide post-procedure monitoring, manage pain and complications, and ensure safe recovery and discharge readiness.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, expectations, and post-procedure care.
• Collaborate with technologists, radiologists, anesthesia providers, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Accurately document assessments, medications, sedation levels, and procedural details in the EMR.
