Rate: Local: $1,051 / 36 hours

Requirements:

  • Active, unrestricted LPN license in the state of New Mexico
  • BLS certification

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care under RN/physician supervision, including medication administration, wound care, and vital signs monitoring
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and per protocol
  • Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for infection or complications
  • Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and changes in condition
  • Maintain accurate patient records for treatments, medications, and clinical observations
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures
  • Administer and monitor IV medications and fluids; ensure proper IV line care and function
  • Provide catheter care, including insertion support, maintenance, and monitoring for complications
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) and prepare for laboratory testing
  • Coordinate care with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure continuity and quality
  • Assist with patient mobility, positioning, comfort measures, and basic pain management
  • Respond to medical emergencies following facility protocols and provide basic life support as needed
  • Follow infection control practices, including hand hygiene and appropriate use of PPE
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies safely and per regulations
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs; participate in ongoing education to maintain competency
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
