LPN/LVN - Contract Long Term Care Night Shift (Albuquerque, NM)

Join a contract (non-travel) nursing opportunity in Albuquerque, NM. Position begins ASAP for an 8-week assignment. Schedule: Thursday–Saturday, 6:30 PM–7:00 AM. Local rate: $1,019 per 36 hours.

Requirements

• Current, active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
• BLS certification

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician supervision, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and vital sign monitoring.
• Perform patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer prescribed treatments and medications accurately, document dosing, and follow established protocols.
• Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for signs of infection or complications.
• Insert, monitor, and maintain IV lines; collect and prepare specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
• Maintain accurate, timely patient records reflecting condition changes, treatments, and medication administration.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Assist with mobility, positioning, pain management, and general comfort needs.
• Respond to medical emergencies using established protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
• Adhere to infection control practices and safe handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care.
• When applicable, supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel to ensure quality patient care.
• Participate in ongoing education to maintain current clinical knowledge and comply with regulations.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
