What you’ll do:
- Provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician supervision — medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and routine patient monitoring.
- Perform focused patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication reviews) and help develop individualized care plans.
- Give prescribed medications and treatments safely and accurately, following protocols and documenting administration.
- Manage wounds and incisions: clean, dress, assess for infection, and report changes.
- Monitor and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and document clinical changes and interventions thoroughly.
- Insert, maintain, and monitor IV lines and administer IV medications/fluids as required.
- Care for patients with urinary catheters, including insertion, maintenance, and surveillance for complications.
- Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing and ensure proper handling and labeling.
- Teach patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and self-care, emphasizing prevention and wellness.
- Support patient comfort and safety—assist with positioning, mobility, pain management, and activities of daily living as needed.
- Respond to emergencies, providing basic life support and following established emergency protocols.
- Follow strict infection control practices (hand hygiene, PPE) and safely handle, store, and dispose of meds and supplies.
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
- Advocate for patients’ needs and rights, participate in ongoing education to stay current with nursing best practices, and, when appropriate, supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
