Seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Medical Geneticist for locum tenens clinical coverage in Portland, OR (97225). This outpatient role supports an adult-focused genetics clinic specializing in cancer genetics, high-risk cancer assessment, and precision oncology.
Assignment details
- Coverage period: May 1, 2026 – Sep 1, 2026
- Schedule: 3 days/week, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Reason: Medical leave cover
- Setting: Outpatient clinic (adults only)
- Average daily volume: 8–10 patients
- Case mix: Hereditary cancer evaluation, high-risk management, tumor-based genetic screening, and precision oncology
Logistics and support
- EMR: Epic
- On-site support: 1 medical assistant, 1 office staff
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance: Provided by agency
- Hospital privileges: Not required
- Credentialing: Payor enrollment required
Requirements
- Board: BC/BE in Medical Genetics (within 3–5 years of residency acceptable)
- State license: OR medical license required
- DEA: OR DEA preferred
- Certifications: BLS
Primary responsibilities
- Provide clinical evaluations and consultations for cancer genetics and high-risk patients
- Deliver pre- and post-test genetic counseling
- Manage tumor-based genetic screening workflows
- Coordinate high-risk patient surveillance and prevention strategies
- Contribute to precision oncology initiatives within the clinic
