Location: Uniontown, PA | Start: ASAP | Duration: 4 weeks | Shift: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM | Rate: Local $1,011 / 32 hours | Type: Contract (Non-Travel)

Requirements:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • Current BLS certification

Overview:
Provide safe, competent direct nursing care under RN or physician supervision. Deliver patient-centered assessments, treatments, documentation, and education while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to maintain quality and continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and ensuring correct dosing.
  • Monitor, document, and respond to vital signs and changes in patient condition.
  • Provide wound care: assess, cleanse, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
  • Insert, maintain, and monitor IV lines; administer and observe IV medications/fluids as ordered.
  • Care for patients with urinary catheters, including insertion, maintenance, and complication surveillance.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records detailing treatments, observations, and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and provide BLS as needed.
  • Follow infection control policies, proper PPE use, and safe handling/disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Advocate for patient rights and coordinate care with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff.
  • Occasionally supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel as assigned.
  • Participate in ongoing education to remain current with nursing best practices and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
