Join a Bedford, NH healthcare team as a Licensed Practical Nurse on an 8-week contract. This full-time, local position begins ASAP with a 07:00 AM–03:30 PM shift. Compensation: $1,284 per 40-hour week.

Requirements:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse state license
  • BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician supervision, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Perform focused patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication reviews) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and document responses.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for infection or complications.
  • Insert, maintain, and monitor IV lines and administer IV medications/fluids per protocol.
  • Manage urinary catheters (insertion, maintenance, surveillance for complications).
  • Collect clinical specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient status, treatments, and medications.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Promote patient comfort, safety, mobility assistance, and pain management.
  • Respond to medical emergencies following established protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Adhere to infection control standards and safe medication/storage/disposal practices.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs and support continuity of care.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when required.
  • Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and training.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
