Rate: Local: $1,008 / 36 hours

Required Credentials

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician guidance: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, ADL assistance.
  • Conduct patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately, following protocols.
  • Manage wounds and incisions: cleaning, dressing, monitoring for infection/complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and patient condition changes.
  • Maintain accurate patient records of assessments, treatments, medications, and progress.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids; ensure proper IV line function and care.
  • Provide catheter care: insertion (if allowed by facility policy), maintenance, and complication monitoring.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Address patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility assistance, pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies per protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control practices (hand hygiene, PPE) and safe handling/storage/disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and support health assessments.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs.
  • Supervise CNAs/UAPs when applicable to ensure quality care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
