Rate: Local: $1,116 / 36 hours

Requirements:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, basic assessments.
  • Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and per protocol.
  • Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration) and changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate patient records of assessments, interventions, medications, and responses.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications and fluids; ensure proper IV line function and site care.
  • Care for urinary catheters: insertion (where scope of practice allows), maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing as ordered.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Address patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility assistance, pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies following facility protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control practices and PPE guidelines.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies per regulations.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and support health assessments.
  • Advocate for patient rights and appropriate care.
  • Supervise CNAs/UAPs when assigned to ensure quality care.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management.

Licensure, certifications, and duties must be maintained according to facility and state regulations.
