Overview
We’re seeking a non-invasive cardiologist to provide locum tenens coverage at a hospital in Chambersburg, PA. Coverage starts September 1, 2026 and is expected to continue beyond that date (minimum commitment: 6 months). Clinical hours are typically 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with a one-hour lunch. We prefer coverage roughly 1–2 weeks per month, with occasional weeknight and weekend limited-call responsibilities (callback only as needed during coverage weeks).
Patient care
You’ll focus on adult patients (18+), seeing roughly 25–35 patients per day. Duties include admissions, daily rounding, phone consults, and a non-invasive case mix—consults, echo, Holter, EKG, stress testing (including nuclear), TEE, and cardioversions.
Facility & support
The hospital is a 265-bed facility using Epic for charting and has full cardiology diagnostic equipment. Interventional cardiology and EP services are available on-site for specialty backup, and you’ll have additional MD and APP support. This role is intended as supplemental coverage.
Privileges, credentialing & compliance
Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges can be granted for candidates with a clean file. Expect a minimum credentialing timeline of 90 days.

Requirements & certifications
- Active PA license or IMLC Letter of Qualification required
- Board certified in Cardiology
- DEA registration required
- ACLS and BLS required
- CTA reading preferred
Procedures you’ll perform
- Echocardiography interpretation
- Holter monitoring interpretation
- Stress testing (including nuclear)
- EKG interpretation
- Transesophageal echo (TEE) and cardioversions
Day-to-day responsibilities
You’ll deliver non-invasive cardiology services, perform diagnostic and procedural care, participate in limited-call coverage, collaborate with cardiology and specialty teams, and maintain accurate documentation in Epic.
