Part-Time Psychiatrist in Rocky Top, TN

Schedule and Structure

• Round-and-go model: approximately 4 hours per week in clinic
• One day per week for treatment plan review and oversight
• Telehealth rounding options available
• Weekdays only; no weekends
• Not an immediate start, allowing time to plan your transition

Patient Population

• Up to 18 inpatient psychiatry patients
• Predominantly Tennessee residents
• Collaborative model: NPs/APCs handle day-to-day rounding; the psychiatrist leads weekly treatment plan review and provides clinical oversight

Call Expectations

• Light call responsibility: primary on-call coverage
• Medical consult services are separately contracted through the facility
• After-hours contact is infrequent; calls after 9:00 PM EST are rare

Compensation

• Compensation is fee for service (FFS) for patient encounters with no cap on productivity income potential.
• Facility medical director stipend is $250/hour for up to 30 hours per month; total stipend potential up to $90,000 annually

Qualifications

• MD/DO with active Tennessee medical license
• Board certified or board eligible in psychiatry
• Psychiatry experience with older adults preferred but not required
• Comfortable in a collaborative APC-led care model
